Een windvoorspelling van 5-6 Bft en buien met windstoten tot 35 knopen (windkracht 8). En het eerste stuk zou hoog aan de wind zijn. Toch gegaan, want we wilden heel graag naar \u00e9\u00e9n van de eilanden. Terschelling leek qua wind en bezeilbaarheid de beste keus. We vertrokken rond half tij, zodat we aan het einde van de tocht de beginnende vloed (of in ieder geval weinig stroom) mee zouden hebben. Omdat we bij half tij flinke stroom mee hadden, maakten we met de harde wind 8-9 knopen vaart over de grond. Aan de wind varend heb je dan een schijnbare wind van ruim een Beaufort harder dan de ware wind. De schijnbare wind (= de wind die je daadwerkelijk voelt) was voortdurend rond de 25 knopen, een dikke 6 Bft. Toen het wat verder van de kust nog iets harder ging waaien, rolden we de kluiver nog wat verder in. Dit stuk was pal voor de wind, dus ondanks de wind-tegen-stroom golven van achteren was het toch een stuk relaxter. Ondertussen kwam ons een akelig donkere lucht achterop. Uit voorzorg zetten we een 2e rif en vervingen we de kluiver door de veel kleinere stagfok. Gelukkig maar, want toen de bui over kwam zat daar inderdaad 35 knopen wind in. De boot ligt er mooi bij in het avondlicht. Morgen blijven we een dagje, want na 6 zeildagen is het lekker om een dagje stil te liggen.
