Nadat we boodschappen gedaan hadden, vertrokken we van Dokkum voor een lange tocht op de motor. Via de Dokkumer Ee naar Leeuwarden. Je vaart voortdurend in kleine konvooitjes, die bij elke brug dicht bij elkaar komen en na de brug weer uitwaaieren. Dat is best intensief varen.<\/p>\n<p>We gingen vlot door de binnenstad van Leeuwarden. Het aquaduct bij Deinum was klaar en de oude roestige brug afgebroken. Bij Franeker wordt een nieuwe stationsbrug gebouwd en is momenteel alleen een noodbrug voor fietsers en voetgangers. Bij Harlingen wordt een aquaduct gebouwd ter vervanging van de Koningsbrug, dat zal voor deze drukke hoofdweg een enorme stap vooruit zijn!<\/p>\n<p>Het was tegen LW en er werd flink gespuid. \u00a0Naarmate we dichter bij Harlingen kwamen, nam de stroom \u00a0in het kanaal toe tot meer dan een knoop. Bij de Tjerk Hiddes sluizen bleek dat zowel kleine als grote sluis gewoon open stonden. Het water kolkte door de kolken\u00a0in zee. Ik riep de sluis op of we er wel door konden. Nou, dat was geen probleem! Men zette de brug open en hop, daar gingen we met 8,5 knopen vaart door de sluis, De hoge sluiswanden schoten vlak naast de boot voorbij. Toen we de sluis invoeren voelde ik de boot 10 cm zakken door het verschil in waterhoogte!<\/p>\n<p>Fijn dat we het droog hielden vandaag, meer naar het zuiden heeft het flink geregend. Typisch een warmtefront: er zit momenteel een miezer in de lucht en het wordt eerder warmer dan kouder. Morgen moeten we er qua regen en harde wind ook aan geloven! We blijven dan een dagje hier.
