De opvarenden van de optimistjes Kwik, Kwek en Kwak moesten de zaak nog in elkaar zetten en het zeil hijsen, dat ging niet vanzelf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tegenwoordig zijn er twee doorgangen van de Ee naar het Pikmeer. Vroeger was er alleen de smalle Tynje. Die ook in mijn pubertijd al druk was in het seizoen. Daar heb ik nog een traumatische ervaring opgedaan \ud83d\ude42 Onze buurman had een oude stalen kajuitvlet gekocht met een aftandse niet erg betrouwbare buitenboordmotor. Wij natuurlijk mee voor een leuk tochtje van de Veenhoop naar het Theehuis in Grou. Precies in de smalle Tynje sloeg de motor af en was met geen mogelijkheid meer aan de praat te krijgen. Grote motorjachten stormden van alle kanten op het stuurloze vletje af. Nu was de kant niet ver en vond ik het nodig me van m&#8217;n stoere kant te laten zien. Dus ik te water met een landvast over m&#8217;n schouder om naar de kant te zwemmen en de boot te redden van een roemloze ondergang. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Buurman liet zich evenmin onbetuigd en deed manhaftige pogingen de motor weer aan de praat te krijgen. Wat lukte. Helaas was hij vergeten dat het gas nog vol open stond en de motor dwars naar stuurboord stond (het stuurwiel zat voor in de kajuit en de 15 pk Evinrude moest nog met de hand aangetrokken worden). De vlet ging dus als een dolle rondjes draaien, daarbij mij wurgend met het landvast en de overige scheepvaart de stuipen op het lijf jagend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Afijn ik bereikte de oever met alleen een flinke striem op m&#8217;n hals en zonder verdere averij aan de boten. Elke keer als we hier varen moet ik aan het voorval denken. Maar natuurlijk werd alles netjes opgeruimd en kropen ze net als wij destijds onder het dektentje.
